Meet Dr. Stuart Gough - General Dentist
Dr. Gough is a general dentist who graduated from the University of Alberta with both BSc and DDS degrees in 1990. Dr. Gough served as a Dental Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. While in the Forces, Stuart served in deployments in Canada and overseas as part of a Field Surgical Hospital. Upon completion of his Army service, Stuart started two general dental practices in Calgary – West 17th Ave Dental Care and Calgary Smiles.
While in private practice, Stuart served on the executive of the Calgary and District Dental Society and was the Southern Alberta coordinator for Open Wide Alberta, a day when dentists across the province donated free dental care to those less fortunate. He has also helped teach radiology at the SAIT dental assisting program. He and his family have traveled to many countries such as Tonga, Peru, and Guatemala providing volunteer dental treatment in impoverished villages and towns. These experiences have been the highlight of his professional career.
Having completed thousands of hours of continuing dental education, Dr. Gough is well versed in most aspects of dentistry. He is a member of the Alberta and Canadian Dental Associations. He has a special interest in wisdom teeth removal with thousands of cases completed successfully as well as helping patients replace missing teeth with dental implants
